An Open Letter to My Coaching Clients

Whether you've been working with me for a while or you're just thinking about starting, this is for you. There are a few things I want you to know, whether they ever get said out loud in a session or not.

You are stronger and braver than you feel.

I see you. All of you, your strengths, your talents, your struggles, and the parts you're not sure you want anyone to see. I see you as a whole person doing the best you can with what you've been carrying. You might feel unsure on the inside. From where I sit, I get to watch how capable you actually are. If you're brave enough to open up and ask for support, you're brave enough to make real changes in your life. You've made it this far. You'll keep going, one step at a time.

Do you really have to figure it all out alone?

One of the most common things people say is, "I should be able to handle this on my own." And sure, you could try. But if support is available to you during a full season of life, why go without it? Think of everyone you show up for. You deserve that same support in return. Wanting help isn't weakness. It's one of the most human and self-respecting things there is.

Not knowing is part of the process

I see the effort when you're working through the big questions, and the answers won't come quickly. I see how hard you're working to find your way back to yourself. When difficult feelings show up, you don't have to push them away. You can notice them as they come, and let them move through as they go. Have patience. Begin again. And know you're not alone in it.

You matter more than you may feel on the hard days

Some days you may feel unseen. But a feeling isn't the same as a fact. Something meaningful happens when one person trusts another enough to share what's really going on beneath the surface. A real connection forms. I care about the people I work with, and whoever you are, there are people in your life who care about you too, even on the days it's hard to believe.

If you've been thinking about it, consider this your sign

Taking the time to understand yourself better is a big deal. It's often the beginning of real, lasting growth, and most people never make that choice. So if you're on the edge of starting, give yourself credit for even considering it. That first step matters more than you know.

Frequently asked questions

What is somatic and mindfulness coaching?
It's a body-based, present-focused approach to personal growth and self-understanding. Rather than working only with your thoughts, it helps you notice what's happening in your body so you can feel more grounded, self-aware, and at ease in daily life. It supports general wellbeing and is not therapy or medical care.

Do I have to be struggling to start coaching?
Not at all. Most people come simply because they want more self-awareness, support with everyday stress, or guidance through a life transition, a new chapter, a big decision, a season of growth. Coaching is for anyone who wants to understand themselves better and move forward with more clarity.

Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Coaching supports growth, self-awareness, and everyday wellbeing in the present. It is not therapy, and it does not diagnose or treat trauma, mental health conditions, or emotional crises. If something comes up that calls for clinical care, we'll gladly help connect you with a licensed professional. At Healing Arts Center, we also have licensed practitioners on our team.

How do I know if coaching is a good fit for me?
If you've been wanting more clarity, more self-awareness, or support with everyday challenges and growth, coaching may be a good fit. You don't need to have anything figured out first. You have to be open to starting.
