About Victoria
I'm Victoria Duarte, a somatic and mindfulness coach and co-founder of Healing Arts Center. I've spent over fifteen years working closely with people, beginning my career as a special needs teacher, where I learned to pay attention to what someone's body and behavior are communicating long before words catch up. That attunement still shapes everything I do.
I work with everyone, and I have a particular heart for women who've spent much of their lives people-pleasing. People-pleasing is so often misunderstood as a personality trait, when it's really a survival strategy, a way of staying safe that made sense once and quietly runs the show long after. Together, we get curious about it, gently, and without shame.
I co-founded Healing Arts Center to be the kind of place I wished more people had access to. Along the way, I'd met too many people who left other wellness experiences feeling unseen or dismissed, and that stayed with me. So the heart of my work is simple: a compassionate space where you feel genuinely heard and safe enough to challenge me, challenge yourself, and tell me when something isn't landing. You're the expert on your own life. I'm here to walk alongside you.

Stress and hard experiences don't only live in your thoughts. They settle into the body as a tight chest, a clenched jaw, the sense of being switched "on" even when nothing's wrong, or the feeling of being stuck without quite knowing why. Somatic coaching works with that directly, instead of only talking around it.
In our sessions, we slow down enough to notice what's actually happening in you, not just your thoughts, but your posture, your breath, the emotions that rise, the discomfort you'd usually push past, even the fear that shows up when you imagine setting a boundary or making a change. As we pay attention together, you start to see how closely your body and your emotions are linked, how what you feel physically shapes what you feel emotionally, and the other way around. That awareness is where change begins. Nothing is forced, and you're always in the lead.
Over time, people often describe feeling calmer, less reactive, and more at home in themselves. With that deeper self-awareness, you build new, healthier ways of relating to your body and your emotions, and many people find a growing sense of wholeness and resilience along the way. This work tends to resonate with anyone seeking personal growth, those carrying chronic stress or burnout, and people moving through a hard transition or whose nervous system has been running on high for a long time.
Sessions are one-on-one with me, in person in Virginia Beach or online. Somatic coaching is coaching, not therapy or medical care. If you're not sure whether it's the right fit, reach out and we'll talk it through before you book.

So much of our stress comes from living a step removed from the present, caught in racing thoughts, replaying the past, or bracing for what's next. Mindfulness coaching helps you build a steadier, kinder relationship with your own mind, so the noise has less of a grip and you can meet your life as it's actually happening.
Every person comes in with their own needs, hopes, and history, and all of that deserves respect. Our work is fully one-on-one and shaped around you, beginning with a simple conversation about where you are and what's drawing you to mindfulness. From there, we build a practice that fits your life, at a pace that works for you.
Along the way, you'll explore practical ways to:
Work with difficult emotions and thoughts instead of being overwhelmed by them
Quiet anxiety, stress, and the pull of self-criticism
Respond thoughtfully rather than react in the heat of the moment
Notice and loosen the limiting beliefs and old habits that keep you stuck
Build a meditation and awareness practice you can actually keep
Carry mindfulness into ordinary life, from hard conversations to everyday moments
Reconnect with your values, so your days feel more grounded in what matters to you
Many people find that practicing mindfulness helps them savor the good moments, stay more engaged in their days, and meet hard times with more steadiness. Over time, they describe a quieter, clearer mind and a steadier sense of themselves.
Sessions are one-on-one with me, in person in Virginia Beach or online. Mindfulness coaching is coaching, not therapy or medical care. Not sure if it's the right fit? Reach out anytime and we'll talk it through.

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on practice that supports deep relaxation and helps the nervous system settle. You rest, fully clothed, while I work with light touch or with my hands held just above the body, creating a quiet, calming space for your system to soften out of stress and into rest.
What makes this trauma-informed is how the session is held. Your consent comes first and continues throughout. You'll know what to expect before we begin, and nothing proceeds without your agreement. You stay in control the entire time and can adjust, pause, or stop whenever you need to. Touch is always optional; if you'd prefer no contact, I can work entirely with my hands held just above the body. For anyone whose body has learned to stay on guard, that sense of safety and choice is the foundation. It's what allows you to truly let down.
People come to Reiki for all kinds of reasons: to quiet a racing mind, to find some calm while moving through a hard season, for gentle emotional support, or simply to feel more balanced and restored. Many describe leaving a session feeling lighter, calmer, and more settled in themselves.
Sessions are in person in Virginia Beach. Reiki is a supportive wellness practice, not therapy or medical care. If you've never tried it and aren't sure what to expect, reach out anytime and I'm glad to answer your questions first.

Integrative Reiki blends traditional Reiki with other practices I'm trained in, shaped around what you need on a given day. Alongside the gentle, hands-on energy work of Reiki, I may weave in breath awareness, vagal toning, or guided relaxation, so the session can support you on more than one level at once.
You rest, fully clothed, while the work unfolds at a calm, unhurried pace. As with all my work, your comfort and consent guide everything, and you can adjust, slow down, or pause at any time. Because each session is tailored to you, no two are exactly alike, which means the work can meet you wherever you are that day.
People often come to Integrative Reiki to release stress, quiet a busy mind, and feel more balanced and restored. Many leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more settled in themselves.

Your body is an intelligent messenger. It holds your experiences, your emotions, and your patterns long after your mind has moved on. Embodiment coaching helps you learn to listen to it.
Most of us were taught to live from the neck up, to think our way through problems and push past what we're physically feeling. Embodiment coaching works differently. Rather than working through conversation alone, sessions bring the body in as an active part of the process.
Sessions include guided practices that build awareness of sensation and movement. I weave in techniques like breathwork, mindfulness, body movement, journaling, and expressive arts to help you process what you're carrying, release what no longer serves you, and build a more grounded relationship with yourself. Everything is tailored entirely to where you are, and your comfort and sense of safety always come first.
Sessions are $125. Embodiment coaching is coaching, not therapy or medical care. If you're curious whether it's the right fit, reach out anytime and we'll talk it through.

Your nervous system shapes nearly everything: how you sleep, how you respond under pressure, and how safe you feel in your own body. When chronic stress or trauma pushes it out of balance, the effects are hard to ignore.
Working with me, you'll come to recognize your own nervous system patterns, build tools for self-soothing and emotional regulation, and reconnect with your body in ways that help you feel steadier and more at ease. Each session is shaped around where you are and what your body needs that day, and may include:
Embodiment practices — gentle movement, breathwork, and body awareness to help you regulate stress responses
Emotional release practices — safe, supported ways to move through emotions held in the body, without feeling overwhelmed
Vagus nerve activation — simple techniques to calm your system and build an internal sense of safety
Ready to feel more balanced and reconnected with your body? Sessions are $75. Nervous system regulation is a supportive wellness practice, not therapy or medical care. Reach out or book your first session anytime.

Hypnotherapy is a deeply relaxing, guided practice for quieting a busy mind and giving your whole system a chance to rest. I'll gently guide you into a calm, focused state, a bit like that peaceful drifting feeling between waking and sleep, where the mental noise softens and your body can fully settle.
You stay aware and in control the entire time. This isn't the stage-show version of hypnosis; it's simply a calm, supported way to reach a depth of relaxation that can be hard to find on your own. I also offer inner child hypnotherapy, a gentle, compassion-centered approach to reconnecting with younger parts of yourself and meeting them with kindness.
Many people come to this work to unwind from stress, ease a racing mind, and feel more grounded and at ease. Sessions are in person in Virginia Beach with me, a certified hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy here is offered as a relaxation and wellness practice, not as therapy or medical treatment. If you're curious but unsure what to expect, reach out anytime and I'll walk you through it.
How Working Together Works
Can coaching help with people-pleasing and old patterns?
Yes, this is much of what I do. People-pleasing is usually a survival strategy, not a flaw, a way of staying safe that once made sense and quietly took over. Together we get curious about it without shame and build new ways of relating to yourself and others, so you don't have to keep abandoning yourself to keep everyone else comfortable.
What happens in a first session?
We start by talking about what's bringing you in, any concerns you have, and what inspired you to reach out. I'll explain a little about how the body and mind are connected, and how physical sensations like tightness, heaviness, or restlessness can hold emotion.
We'll gently check in with what you're noticing in your body in the moment, whether that's tension, warmth, or no strong sensation at all, which is completely okay. If it feels right, we'll begin some small, gentle work, maybe simple breathing, noticing your posture, or a grounding exercise, always at your pace. And we'll talk together about what you'd like this work to help you with, so we have a direction. Nothing is rushed, and you're always in the lead.
What if something doesn't feel right, or I don't agree with you?
Please tell me. You're the expert on your own life, and I treat your pushback as valuable, not a problem. Feeling safe enough to challenge me is part of how we get closer to what's really going on, and it's something I actively welcom
