Reiki for Self-Care is a 3-hour introductory workshop for anyone who wants to learn energy work for their own rest and restoration. No experience needed, and no certification involved. This class is entirely about you.
We keep theory short and practice long. You'll learn how the body holds what we feel, how the nervous system shifts between "fight or flight" and "rest and digest," and how a few quiet minutes of daily practice support steadiness over time.
What you'll learn:
Self-Reiki basics: hand placements and techniques designed for practicing on yourself
Grounding exercises: simple mindfulness practices that quiet the mind and bring you back to the present
Nervous system basics: how to help your body move out of high alert and into rest
Daily practice: how to fit a 5-to-10 minute self-treatment into the routine you already have
To keep the room safe and inward-focused, participants work only with their own energy. No practice is done on others in this session.
Whether you're brand new to energy work or adding to an existing personal practice, you'll leave with tools you can use the same night.

Taught by Janice Landfair, Reiki Master Teacher, Certified Clinical Reiki Master, and founder of Essential Wellness. Janice leads the Reiki program at Sentara Brock Cancer Center and teaches Reiki certification through Level III at Healing Arts Center.
