What If Reiki Was the Beginning of a Different Relationship With Yourself?

Healing Arts Center in Virginia Beach offers Reiki training taught through a trauma-sensitive approach, designed for people of all backgrounds and experience levels. Whether you are looking for a personal self-care practice or pursuing Reiki professionally, our training is built around safety, consent, and genuine transformation. Two pathways are available: a self-care practice with no certification required, and a full Reiki I Certification for those who want to go deeper.

Most people come to Reiki training because they want to help others. What they often discover is that Reiki first helps them come back to themselves. That shift, quiet and unexpected, is what makes this work so different from anything most students have experienced before.

What Are the Two Ways to Learn Reiki at Healing Arts Center?

Self-Care Reiki is offered by both Janice and Victoria and is designed for those who want to learn Reiki as a personal practice. There is no certification involved. The focus is entirely on learning how to give yourself Reiki as a tool for everyday stress relief, emotional regulation, and self-healing.

Reiki I Certification is offered by Janice and is structured for anyone who wants to go deeper. The training covers self-healing and giving Reiki to others and is designed for those who want to use Reiki personally, share it with family and friends, or pursue it professionally. Certification is included for those who choose that path.

Both pathways begin in the same place. With you.

Why We Teach Reiki Through a Trauma-Sensitive Approach

After more than ten years of teaching Reiki, Victoria and Janice have learned something that most training programs do not acknowledge. Not every student is comfortable in a large group setting. Not every student is comfortable with touch, whether giving or receiving it. Eye contact, physical closeness, and the expectation of hugging can be genuinely difficult for people who are neurodivergent or who carry lived experiences that make those kinds of interactions challenging.

This is not about teaching students trauma-informed Reiki. It is about creating a classroom environment where every student feels safe enough to learn. That distinction matters.

Privacy matters here too. Students are not photographed and shared on social media to generate attention or engagement. Your presence in this space belongs to you, not to a marketing strategy.

You will not find dress codes here either. Students are not required to wear white, and teachers are not separated from students through color or costuming. That kind of visual hierarchy is a subtle but real expression of power dynamics, and it has no place in a space built on trust, consent, and genuine connection. Everyone who walks through the door is treated as an equal participant.

From the moment you sign up to the moment you leave, this training is designed to honor where you are. There is no pressure to perform, to connect in ways that feel uncomfortable, or to move faster than your nervous system is ready for. You set the pace. We create the container.

What Makes Our Reiki Training in Virginia Beach Different?

Our training is built around small, supportive class sizes that allow for personal attention and genuine connection. Students receive hands-on practice throughout with guidance at every step. Janice and Victoria bring years of experience as Reiki Master Teachers and understand that learning something new can feel vulnerable. The space respects neurodivergence, lived experience, and individual boundaries without question. Ongoing workshops and Reiki Shares continue after training ends, so growth does not stop when the class does. Students leave with practical tools they can use immediately for themselves, their families, their friends, and their pets.

What Will I Learn in Reiki I Certification Training?

During this training, students receive their Reiki I attunement, learn the history and founding principles of Reiki, explore self-healing techniques for everyday use, practice giving Reiki to others in a safe and supported environment, develop energy awareness and intuition, and build genuine confidence in working with Reiki energy.

Who Is This Reiki Training For?

This training is for anyone beginning a healing journey, looking for tools to manage stress or emotional overwhelm, or feeling called to energy work but unsure where to start. It is also for anyone who has tried other training formats and found them overwhelming, impersonal, or not designed for the way they experience the world. No prior experience is required.

The Invitation

The greatest gift Reiki offers is not just the ability to support others. It is the opportunity to remember who you are beneath the noise, the expectations, and the demands of everyday life. For many students, this training was where that remembering began.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean that your Reiki training uses a trauma-sensitive approach? It means the classroom itself is designed with awareness that students arrive with different comfort levels, lived experiences, and nervous system needs. We do not teach trauma-informed Reiki. We teach Reiki in an environment that prioritizes consent, privacy, individual boundaries, and a pace that works for each student. There are no dress codes, no mandatory touch, no photography, and no power hierarchy between teacher and student.

Do I need experience to take Reiki I Certification Training? No prior experience is required. This training is designed to meet you exactly where you are, whether you are completely new to energy work or have been curious about Reiki for years.

What is the difference between Self-Care Reiki and Reiki I Certification? Self-Care Reiki focuses exclusively on learning how to give yourself Reiki as a daily practice. There is no certification involved. Reiki I Certification covers both self-healing and giving Reiki to others and is appropriate for those who want to use Reiki personally, share it with others, or pursue it as a professional practice.

Is this training suitable for people who are sensitive to touch or large groups? Yes. Our training is specifically designed with those students in mind. Touch is never mandatory, class sizes are small, and the environment is structured to accommodate a range of comfort levels and nervous system needs.
