Finding Your Way Home: The Story of Healing Arts Center
Healing Arts Center is a wellness space devoted to helping people reconnect — to themselves, their community, and their sense of purpose.
What began as a response to the needs of military families in Virginia Beach has grown into a home that caters to the whole community, promoting wellness for all through diverse classes, experiences, and healing modalities including meditation, mindfulness, somatic healing, creative expression, movement, Reiki, bodywork, and meditative writing.
We believe living well can happen at any stage in life, regardless of age, health, or physical ability. Our studio was designed to inspire, motivate, and nurture by sharing the tools needed to flourish within the demands of daily life.
Founded by Mark and Victoria, Healing Arts Center was built on a simple truth: no single modality can meet the full complexity of what people carry. What was missing was a collective, a gathering of different healing practices under one roof where people could find what they needed, rather than being limited to what was available. That conversation became Healing Arts Center.
Walking into a wellness space for the first time can feel overwhelming. With so many practitioners and healing modalities, it is easy to wonder where to start. At Healing Arts Center, you are free to explore at your own pace, knowing that every practitioner in our space is an expert in their field and believes that you are in charge of your own wellness journey.
Meet Mark Berry
Mark Berry is a retired Navy SEAL with 25 years of service across multiple high-stakes leadership roles. After retiring, he co-founded Healing Arts Center and now works as a creative and mindfulness leadership coach. Drawing on decades of experience leading under pressure, Mark guides individuals through the transformative power of mindfulness, meditation, and creativity, helping them find clarity, resilience, and purpose both personally and professionally.
His path into this work wasn't a departure from his military career, it was a natural extension of it. Mark spent decades leading people through some of the most demanding environments imaginable and learned that strength without self-awareness has a shelf life. That realization shaped everything he now brings to his coaching, a grounded, no-nonsense approach that meets people where they are and helps them find their footing again.
Meet Victoria Duarte
Victoria Duarte is warm, honest, and exactly what the wellness world needs more of. As a trauma-informed somatic and mindfulness coach with over a decade of experience across Canada and the United States, she has spent years helping clients stop surviving their emotions and start understanding them.
Her path into this work wasn't accidental. Victoria sat with too many people who had been let down, women who came to healing spaces looking for support and left feeling more confused, more dependent, more lost than when they arrived. She decided that wasn't good enough. What she offers instead is grounded, honest coaching that puts the tools directly in her clients' hands, because real healing means you stop needing to be rescued. She knows when to push and when to simply be a soft place to land, and her clients leave not just feeling better, but knowing why and knowing what to do when life gets hard again.
